Capital Campaign

Phase One

The Take Flight! Capital Campaign’s goal is to raise funds to purchase land and begin to build facilities to allow Midwest Avian Foundation to begin full operation. Our goal is to have both indoor facilities as well as outdoor enclosures, to give guests options to visit no matter the weather: rain, snow, or heat. This will also afford the flexibility to house species from other climates, such as desert or Arctic birds.

Our indoor facility will also include an auditorium for large groups to gather and learn, plus space for staff offices, a volunteer break room, and space for examination/treatment rooms.

For property, we are looking for 20-60 acres, either zoned for commercial or the ability to re-zone to commercial. Ideally, we would be within the Wichita city limits, or no more that 10 minutes out. East Wichita, Andover, or Derby are our primary target areas.
